JOIN US FOR THE MOST EXCITING ROPES COURSE ADVENTURE WEST OF DENVER!

Colorado Sky Trek is an exciting Colorado ropes course designed for maximum fun and challenge! Just minutes west of Denver and the Front Range, we’re located in Idaho Springs where gold was first discovered to start the Colorado Gold Rush back in 1859. The course is built on several historic mining claims so in keeping with Colorado history, we’ve designed the course around a mining theme.

The Colorado Sky Trek features over 60 challenging obstacles, elements and ziplines with three distinct routes so adventurers of all ages and abilities can have fun and enjoy the challenge, plus learn a little history along the way!

QUICK DETAILS:

Climbers get to decide how much challenge they want to face and test their mental and physical abilities by choosing the difficulty level of the course they choose from:

  • Easy (Copper)
  • Intermediate (Silver)
  • Advanced (Gold) courses.

The elements in each course employ a wide variety of features to create obstacles you’ll have a blast navigating your way through. At the end of each course there is a short zip back to the central tower. You’ll reach heights of up to 50+ feet but no worries, climbers are in a harness and securely attached to a safety device at all times while completing each obstacle.

Appropriate for most ages, from beginner to experienced; must meet height and weight requirements.

What is an Aerial Adventure Park / Challenge Ropes Course?

An Aerial Adventure Park aka Sky Trek is a challenge course designed to provide outdoor personal development and team building through high elements – that is, towers and elements at varying degrees of difficulty and heights. Our sky trekking course is built for both the challenge and for fun! A series of cables stretching between towers form an assortment of different elements. You’ll be harnessed and secured on a rope belay system as you move through the course. Our variety of features and elements as well as varying levels of difficulty are designed to test your skill, balance, nerves, and strength.

Kids of all ages are welcome! Participants must be at least 4 years old with a minimum reach of 46 inches and a maximum weight of 275 pounds. All children ages 4 to 6 must be accompanied by a participating adult at a ratio of 1 adult per 2 children. Youth ages 7 to 15 must have a supervising adult at a ratio of 1 adult per 10 youth. Please call our office with any questions. Participants must be able to fit into our harnesses and be in good health. If you are pregnant, have heart trouble, or other medical concerns, please consult your doctor before participating. You will be required to sign an Assumption of Risk Waiver prior to your participation.

Because you’ll be wearing a climbing harness, we recommend pants but knee-length shorts are fine (no short shorts). No loose clothing or jewelry. Long hair needs to be pulled back. For your safety, bare feet, sandals and flip flops are not allowed. Closed-toe shoes are required. Sorry, no Crocs! We also suggest a strap for your sunglasses/glasses, and if the sun is shining, then bring the sunscreen.

A little rain won’t stop the fun! However, we reserve the right to delay the adventure up to 45 minutes due to weather conditions that might affect your safety. If we are unable to resume the adventure, we will either reschedule your trip for a later time, provide you a credit for a future trip or refund you.
Since we can’t retrieve cameras dropped in the river, we have hired professional photographers to record your memories. They will capture the expression of your kids’ faces as they face the challenges! Be sure to stop by the photo display to review your photos that are also available for purchase.
Is it safe?

Safety is our number one concern! We use only the highest quality equipment, and our course has been designed, constructed, and inspected by a professional vendor member of the Association for Challenge Course Technology. Our staff is fully trained to ACCT standards, and inspects the course and gear daily. As with any outdoor adventure experience, some inherent risk is involved.

We require full payment at the time of reservation and our cancellation policy differs, depending on whether or not you have purchased Worry-Free Cancellation plan. We highly recommend purchasing Worry-Free Cancellation plan, as it allows you the flexibility you many need. Your trip time is your arrival time.

Your trip time is your arrival time. Please make sure to leave time for traffic and check in as soon as you arrive at our Idaho Springs basecamp!

We do not charge taxes on our services because we are not required to by law. We are, however, required to pay numerous fees to many local, regional and state organizations, including but not limited to the City of Idaho Springs, Clear Creek County, Division of Oil and Public Safety (OPS), Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Colorado Department of Revenue and our property owner.

In addition to those fees, our booking software and credit card fees charge a large percentage of each transaction. When weather cancels events, we eat this cost. If weather is not the cancellation reason, however, we must charge the customer to recoup that cost.

In addition, we are a voluntary member of numerous local, state and national organizations that offer regulatory and strategic support to us as an outfitter. These membership costs are not included in our fees but they do provide additional layers of safety and professionalism that not all outfitters adhere to but we are committed to following. These include: Colorado River Outfitter’s Association (CROA), America Outdoors (AO), Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) and more.
