Team Highside Guides are certified by the State of Colorado and go through one of the most extensive training programs in the industry. They are among the finest guides in Colorado.
A second-year guide who’s spent her entire rafting career at Highside, Carla Cammarata became hooked on rafting three years ago after a trip to Argentina. She came out to Colorado from Maryland to raft for one summer and has yet to find the urge to leave. Rafting has introduced Carla to so many amazing people – both guests and other guides – she doesn’t think she will ever get tired of sharing her excitement for whitewater with new people.
She loves mud, Slip ‘n Slides, science, trying new things and being outside. In the off-season she tutors, runs a non-profit and slings bagels. This summer she intends to add the banjo to the list of instruments that she attempts to play, climb some mountains, teach a few summer courses and guide new stretches of river.

Jane Deming really loves life and adventure.During the winter months she works as the Instructional Lab Assistant for the Clear Creek Alternative Program, an educational resource for at-risk high school students. She enjoys seeing young people beginning to achieve their life goals. In the summer months she’s stationed in Highside Adventure Tours’ Clear Creek/Idaho Springs office. She says the summer job is by far the most fun! She loves meeting people from all walks of life who want to enjoy the challenge of whitewater rafting.
Jane is blessed with the greatest husband in the world, Joe! She has two adult children: a girl, Karie, and a boy, Jonathan; and five grandchildren: Robert, Summer, Kellianna, Jonathan Jr. and Natalie. She also has two stepdaughters, Tyler and Megan, who helped her out last summer and Jane even got them on the water.
Some of her past experiences include working for a bank, ambulance and fire rescue, National Ski Patrol, insurance companies, universities, grocery stores, horseback riding and hairdressing, just to name a few. She has a Master’s degree in Business and has traveled to all of the U.S., with the exception of Washington and Oregon.
Jane enjoys camping with friends and family, skiing, rafting, bowling and going to rodeos and concerts. (Country music, of course!)
